It has been a wonderful privilege to spend my entire life working and playing in Western North Carolina. I’m an avid traveler but nowhere beats these mountains to call home and raise a family.
What made you open your Spa?
My sister (and co-founder) and I were total spa junkies! We traveled the world to seek out the best in spa treatments, from high-end resorts to island beach cabanas. We had no idea we were actually doing research to open our own spa. When we decided to open a business together, we followed our passion and incorporated some of the best treatments we’d come across into our menu of services.
How long have you been in HBV?
Spa at Biltmore Village is celebrating over 11 years in business.
Why did you choose to open your business in HBV?
At the time, Biltmore Village was being rebuilt and rejuvenated after the epic floods of 2004 and there were no other day spas. That coupled with the high volume of visitors and proximity to the Biltmore Estate made Biltmore Village a perfect choice to locate our spa.
What is the greatest thing about being in HBV?
With its Old World architecture, strolling in Biltmore Village feels like you’ve stepped into a rural English town. At night, there is something magical and wonderfully romantic that happens when the white twinkling lights outlining all the shops come on.
What is something about your business that most people don’t know?
Spa at Biltmore Village regularly gives back to a variety of local non-profit organizations serving the environment, healthcare, cultural programs, and children thru sponsorships and donations.
Best kept secret in the Village?
Too many to count, but I narrowed it down to my three favorites:
The “Mountain” éclair at Well-Bread Bakery….it can cure anything.
The Bolognese at Fig Bistro…it’s happiness on a plate.
The Crowning Glory Scalp Massage at the Spa at Biltmore Village…you can feel the stress and tension simply melting away.
Valentine’s Day is just a short week away, what would you recommend to guys and gals looking to treat that special someone in their lives?
I would treat them to our Couple’s Rendezvous for Two package! This two-hour package includes side-by-side massages and facials followed by complimentary champagne and chocolate truffles (from Well-Bred). To round out the day, walk next door for a gourmet meal at Fig Bistro. And if you want to go all out, book a jacuzzi suite at the DoubleTree Hotel or the Residences at Biltmore.
